Alessi The Best Electric Kettle Is A Work Of Art
Alessi is an amazing company, driven by
design and producing some the best cookware for the modern consumer. The Alessi
electric kettle comes in an awesome and diverse array of designs - Alessi is
sure to have an electric kettle that fits your needs, your kitchen décor and
satisfies the needs of those with a discerning artistic eye.
Take for example the Wiel Arets kettle.
He was born in Holland and was primarily an architect. He studied in Amsterdam
and Rotterdam and then continued his extensive studies in Vienna, Germany, New
York and Denmark to name just a few, winning chairs and professorships at many
of these universities and prestigious institutions. The Wiel Arets kettle is
made from the latest materials, and has an extremely pleasing design.
The Michael Graves kettle has a
completely different look to it. He created the very efficient Michael Graves
kettle for Alessi in 1988. It incorporates a really fun bird whistle that sits
on the spout and warbles when your water is boiling. It's a delight to look at,
and because of its wide base is extremely efficient.
This Alessi electric kettle was so
popular it is being made again and is Alessi's top selling kettle. It has a
large element in its wide base that heats small amounts of water super fast -
ideal for the one-cup tea drinker and incorporates a very comfortable handle
that's perfect for people who don't grip things well. It also comes in a choice
of great colors and even the bird whistle comes in a choice of colors! It comes
in super shiny stainless steel - you can see your face in it! And did I mention
it is cordless?
Now, if neither the design of the
Michael Graves kettle or the Wiel Arets kettle blows your artistic and
tea-loving mind, there's always the Alessi Pito kettle - this thing doesn't
even look like a kettle, but if I was super-rich I would definitely blow $400
on one! I'm not even sure if I would use it, as it looks like a modern steel
and wood sculpture - I think I might just display it instead.
The Pito kettle is mirror polished steel
topped off with a mahogany handle and spout shaped like a fish. What was
designer Frank Gehry smoking that particular day you might ask? It whistles
when the water's boiling, but for $400 I might expect something a little more
spectacular than that - perhaps it could play Handel's Water Music, or at least
Tea for Two!
The Italians are well known for their
awesome designs, from some of the sexiest sports cars in the world and now
kettles! They are not afraid to invite some of the best designers and artists
in the world to help with their designs.
So next time you put the kettle on for a refreshing cup of tea,
take a long hard look at your old kettle and make a resolution to buy an Alessi
electric kettle to add a focal point to your kitchen. It will certainly be a
conversation starter at your next afternoon tea party!
